A Day of Prayer

Our Baptist Union of Churches has called for a Day of Prayer on Sunday 9 September.

A number of changes are being proposed to the way the Union works, due to the current financial challenges. These changes will impact staff with the loss of jobs at both our National Resource Centre at Didcot and around the country within the Associations.

We will pray for those affected by these changes and for the whole FUTURES PROCESS which is still ongoing, as well as for those who have responsibility in implementing changes. Whilst this is a financial challenge, it is hoped that the process will act as a catalyst for positive changes. See the Baptist Union website for further details:

The day will also give us an opportunity to pray for our own church at the beginning of a new ‘church year’. The Newsdesk out today gives information on what is happening over the next few months. Let us respond to this call in whatever way we can, at home in our personal prayer times and together.
Call to Prayer: Sunday 9 September, 5.15pm in the blue room for 1 hour. This should allow time for any who wish to attend the Songs of Praise at St Mary’s at 6.30pm.
