The leadership team is inviting all in the congregation to put this date in your diaries as a day to seek God and to put aside all those things which might distract us from coming to him or might make it hard for us to hear him. If you are able to come to the church, there will be sessions of worship and prayer at the following times: 7:30 am for half an hour, 10:30 am and 8 pm for about an hour. If you cannot come, you can make time during the day or another day to ask God to bring you closer to him and to show you how to pray for our church. There will be a sheet of prayers and Scripture verses provided next Sunday for use on 25th, to help you focus your thoughts. The emphasis is on coming to God and listening to him, not on a list of specific topics. We need energy for the new season of activities beginning in September and that can only come from the divine treasury.

The purpose of this special day is for us all as a congregation to seek God wholeheartedly and ask him for his help before we come to a new session with new challenges. There will be a sheet of prayers and Bible verses for you to use, whether you can come to a prayer session at the church or not. E-copies will go to those on the email list. So try to set aside time on that day, or another day, to join with everybody in prayer. This might mean giving up something, whether food or some other pleasure, simply to have that time. But we can’t afford to have a busy programme without God’s empowering presence. For more information, contact Janet Persson or Mary Franks.
