Footsteps 3 – Do you know what this is?

posted 12 Feb 2015, 06:20 by KBC Webservant   [ updated 12 Feb 2015, 06:20 by KBC Web Admin ]

3 important features:

 1. Footsteps 3 is different:

·         Anyone can sign up for a Footsteps 3 day [not just if you have done the other courses]

·         You don’t have to commit to all 3 sessions – sign up for 1 or 2 [with a discount for all 3]

·         Gives you a ‘taster’ experience of Footsteps

 2. Footsteps 3 is focused

·         follows a single theme for a whole day

·         is set in a context of worship and prayer

·         helps to focus our thinking and action for mission

 3. Footsteps 3

·         will be held at Thatcham Baptist Church, alongside Footsteps 1 and 2

·         will happen once every term [November, February and April]

·         offers reduced rates for church groups [5 for the cost of 4]

The February Footsteps 3 course is titled Multicultural Church and will be led by Gale Richards, Regional Tutor at Northern Baptist College and HEBA Project Development Officer, who will be looking at:

®     What are the characteristics of healthy multicultural churches and how do we build them?

®     How do we develop effective ways to challenge racial injustice in the local church and wider society?

®     How should cultural diversity inform the ministry and mission of the local church?

This is a really interesting ‘bite-sized’ course and may be perfect for someone who is thinking about doing the Footsteps 1 course.  It will be held on Saturday 28th February at Thatcham Baptist Church.  The cost will be £33.00 for the day (concessions available).   Please feel free to contact Anne Lane, Tutor in Community Learning at Regent’s Park College, if you have any questions, at anne.lane@regents.ox.ac.uk.
