Is It True?

The last of our four talks on Big Questions of God, Religion, Science and Suffering was again a thought-provoking talk, addressing an issue which affects all of us at some time in our lives. There was an average attendance of about 226, and all four speakers gave excellent talks followed by productive question times, addressing these important questions at the point of people’s concerns.

The talks are now available on the church website and we intend to produce a DVD within the next few weeks – there were 80 expressions of interest for this on the nights - if you would like to add to these, let David Evans or Helen (at the church office) know.

Please continue to pray for those who attended the talks – there were many appreciative comments from sceptics as well as believers, interesting conversations afterwards, and requests for a further series.  Some came along because the talks were given by Oxford professors, some would not have come to a church - pray that they will continue to have their questions addressed, and will be open to learning more of Jesus. A wide variety of helpful books on these topics is available - about 200 were purchased on the night at a bookstall provided by St Andrews Bookshop, Witney, and we have some coupons for a 10% reduction at their bookshop on the church bookshelves.

A huge thank you again to the many who volunteered to help with the talks – over 30 people were directly involved in some way.  It is good to be part of a fellowship that works together to share the good news in so many ways.
