In most of the 50 countries on Open Doors World Watch List, daily life for the Christian is getting more difficult.  Emerging persecution trends are increasing most rapidly in Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa.  Asia too have seen a rise with North Korea still at number 1 on the list for a consecutive 13th year.  Afghanistan is at number 5, Pakistan 8 and Vietnam 16.  India is the highest it has ever been at 21 and China returns to the top 30 at number 29.

In 80% of the 50 countries on the list ‘Islamic extremism’ is a key persecution engine.  Islamic extremism has two global centres of gravity: one in Arab Middle east and the other in sub-Saharan Africa.

In this evening service we will watch the latest DVD from Open Doors, featuring testimony from North Korean Christians.  We will follow their World Watch Church pack  with prayers, readings, talk and discussion.  Next term we will move back to our focus on one country.
