Andrew and Janet Persson

The Bible is a book that Christians don’t want to be without but many Christians in the world have no Bible in a language they can understand.

Andrew and Janet belong to Wycliffe Bible Translators, which is working to remedy this situation by helping language communities to write down previously unwritten languages, to set up literacy programmes and to translate the Bible into those languages.

Andrew and Janet helped translate the New Testament into the Jur Mödö language of South Sudan during the 1980s and 1990s, and after that were involved mainly in training and advising Sudanese who wish to translate the Bible into their languages.

They are retired from Wycliffe but Andrew continues to give consultant help remotely to some translation teams in South Sudan.
